Annuities

Annuities are saving plans, which are done through life insurance companies. However unlike other regular savings (CD, Money Market etc.) your earnings are growing on a tax deferred basis and may avoid probate.
Annuities can guarantee a lifetime income and can give you a peace of mind that you never outlive your savings.
Annuities are divided into two types. Single Premium, allows you to deposit only one lump sum and Flex Annuities, which allows you to make additional deposits.
Annuities can be "none qualified" (an after tax money like CD's, saving accounts, etc.) or "qualified" (a pre tax like an IRA 401K, 403B etc.)

There are several types of annuities:

FIXED ANNUITY*
This annuity will earn an interest rate usually guaranteed for the first year and guaranteed not to go below a certain interest rate. This is the safest type of annuities, because your principle and a certain interest rate are guaranteed.

INDEX ANNUITY**
With the Index Annuity you have the potential returns of the stock market. Your earnings are linked to the performance of the S&P 500. At the same time you are protected if the market goes down because your principle is 100% guaranteed.

VARIABLE ANNUITIES***
In this annuity you can spread your deposits over several sub-accounts and your earnings are based on each specific fund you choose. However in this annuity there are no guarantees, your earnings are strictly based on the funds you choose and can go up or down.

* All guarantees are based on the financial strength and claims paying ability of the issuing insurance company, who is solely responsible for all obligations under its policies.

** Fix Index Annuities are Insurance Contract and do not directly participate in any stock, bond or equity investments. You are not buying any shares of stocks, bonds or shares of index. The market index value does not include the dividends paid on the underlying market index. These dividends are also not reflected in any indexed interest that may be credited to your contract. Such contracts have substantial variation in terms, costs and guarantees and features and may cap participation or returns in significant ways. Investors are cautioned to carefully review a fixed index annuity for its features, costs and risk and how the variables are calculated. Any guarantees are backed by the financial strength of the insurance company. An annuity's earnings are taxable as ordinary income when withdrawn and, if taken before the 59 1/2, may be subject to a 10% federal tax penalty.

Fix Annuity is a long-term, tax-deferred retirement vehicle.

A variable annuity is a long-term, tax deferred investment vehicle designed for retirement. Earning are taxed as ordinary income when distributed, and withdrawal of taxable amounts prior to age 59 ½ may be subject to 10% federal tax penalty. Withdrawals may be subject to withdrawal charges, recapture charges and excess interest adjustments, where applicable. Variable annuities involve investment risks and may lose value.

Tax deferral offers no additional value if an annuity is used to fund a qualified plan, such a 401(k) or IRA and may not be available if annuity is owned by a "non-natural person" such as corporation or certain types of trusts.

Before investing, investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses and its underlying investment options. The contract prospectus and underlying fund prospectuses, which are contained in the same document, provide this and other important information. Please contact your representative or the company to obtain the prospectus. Please read the prospectus before investing or sending money.
